This is a charming, cozy, tastefully decorated 3 bedroom cottage that sits on the beautiful shores of Butterfly Lake. The cottage is ideally located between the two vintage Muskoka resort towns of Bala and Port Carling.
Inside the cottage, you'll find it meticulously kept, offering a warm, pine lined interior while the stone wood burning fireplace in the living room sets the tone for cooler summer evenings.
The main floor is an open concept dining room/kitchen/living room, all facing floor to ceiling windows for fantastic views of the lake. The kitchen is equipped with modern stainless steel appliances, side by side fridge, gas cooktop, oven, microwave, built in dishwasher and plenty of counter space. Dining inside or outside is a treat as both the pine indoor dining room table or the outdoor deck teak-style dining room table cater to the ubiquitous theme of facing the welcoming lake, never feeling like you have stepped away from all that nature has to offer.
All 3 bedrooms face the lake as well, all with queen sized beds and TV's with DVD's! The comfortable Master bedroom is on the main floor with windows facing both the lake and the woods, making for a picturesque retreat day or night.
From the spacious wrap around deck, take a step down to the level driveway where there is a children's playground climber and then take a few short stairs down from there to the dock and nearby great fire pit. At the waterfront, the 400 feet of shore line has been left in its natural state. For a dip into the refreshing clear waters, you can walk in from the pebbly bottomed shore or shallow dive from the end of the dock where the water is 4 feet deep. Butterfly Lake is spring fed and shallower than the other Muskoka Lakes which means it tends to be a warmer lake and an ideal size for families to enjoy by canoe, paddleboat or rowboat.
Hard to believe anyone would tire of all that the lake has to offer, but you can go for walks, hikes, jogs, or bike rides on the various trails nearby. With golf courses within 30 minutes from the cottage you could play a round in the morning and be back in time to spend the afternoon on the dock basking in the sun while enjoying your favorite summer beverage. On Tuesday nights in Bala, there is a free waterskiing show guaranteed to entertain the whole family, and be sure to stop in at the local soda shop for an ice cream cone after the show.
Summer fun is endless at this perfect Muskoka cottage getaway!
