This warm and inviting 2 level, 4 bedroom, 1,500 sq. ft. cottage is located on a ¾ acre lot of land overlooking tranquil Fox Lake.
The main living/dining/kitchen area is open and spacious with a wall of large picture windows offering gorgeous expansive views of the lake. With beautiful hardwood floors throughout, comfortable furnishings in every room and a fully equipped kitchen with plenty of granite counter space, you will enjoy all the comforts of home and more.
Next to the living room is a screened-in Muskoka room, the perfect place to retreat to for a quick nap or indulge in afternoon beverages on a warm summer’s afternoon while enjoying the cool breezes off of the lake. From here step out onto the generous sized deck, start up the BBQ and dine outdoors while taking in the peacefulness of your surroundings and the spectacular lake views.
The lake facing master bedroom with its own modern and spacious ensuite bathroom is on the main level along with two other bedrooms, a 4-piece bathroom and a laundry room.
The lower level has a fourth bedroom and a large family room complete with an elliptical machine for those of you that want to burn off some dinner calories while the others relax and watch movies.
With an eastern exposure, start your days off, cup of coffee in hand, down at the dock and watch day after day of glorious sunrises. The long dock lends to basking in the sun until late afternoon and with the water being 10-12 feet deep at the end, continually refresh yourself by diving into the cool calm lake. For the more ambitious, challenge yourself to a long swim out to the island and back!
A wonderful feature of the 200 feet of water frontage is 25 feet of hard packed sand beach to the left of the dock leading into a shallow sandy walk-in for approximately 20 feet before reaching an adult’s waist. Ideal for both young and old alike to safely splash and play for hours on end!
For the more adventurous take the canoe out and venture into the Fox Lake “Tail”. Fox Lake gets its name from the lake looking like a fox laying down on the map. The “Tail” is the south end of the lake leading to Hoodstown Dam. There is a historical marker there near the dam where once was a town by that name between Fox and Vernon Lake which is now truly a “Ghost Town”.
As your day draws to an end, gather round the ideally placed fire pit, perched above the lake and roast marshmallows and share your day’s adventures. And if that isn’t perfect enough, slide into the outdoor hot tub to relax the day’s pleasantly sore muscles from all the fun activities, before tucking in for the night. Does it get any better?!
