Welcome to this beautiful year round 4 bedroom, 2,600 sq.ft. cottage on popular Kahshe Lake, well known for its great fishing. Located in the Muskoka District but it is less busy than the larger Muskoka Lakes. With the cottage set back a distance from the lake, situated on 5 acres of land, this property offers ample privacy and solitude.
The original cottage was built in the late 1800’s and where the current living room is and an upstairs living space, that was the entire size of the cottage. The present owners have just finished an extensive renovation and addition, maintaining the original fireplace while bringing a combination of modern and cottage classic details to the entire interior. Gorgeous tongue and groove pine ceilings and walls with white pine floors throughout, bring a welcoming warmth, while choice stone walls and granite floors, stainless steel appliances and tastefully designed bathrooms add an inviting modern flare.
The cozy living room faces the long private driveway while the adjacent sitting room, with its soaring cathedral ceilings and abundance of picture windows, faces the expansive lawn leading down to the lake. The combined kitchen/dining room has a walkout to the screened-in Muskoka room which leads out to the lawn and lake. A 3-piece bathroom and bedroom round out the main level.
The upper level has 3 more bedrooms with the spacious master bedroom sharing a 3-piece ensuite bathroom and has its own loft balcony overlooking the sitting room.
The massive level yard is great for the kids to play all sorts of back to nature games and give the hand-held devices a rest! The lake is approximately 125 feet from the cottage with a ramp leading down to the 100 feet of waterfrontage. Situated in a quiet bay with the water being 15 feet deep at the end of the dock, diving and swimming are ideal. The sun stays on the dock until six at night, so soak up the rays while watching and listening to the loons.
There are many organized events in and around the lake, particularly Kahshe Lake Regatta, several barn dances and an end of the summer Labour Day concert. However you choose to pass away your relaxing days, your evenings need to come to an end seated on the dock, watching night after night of stunning sunsets!
