Welcome to “LAKESIDE”, luxury comes in all sizes and this gorgeous newly renovated cottage is a prime example! Situated on a granite outcropping and well- treed natural shoreline, this 3 bedroom, 2 level, 1,600 sq. ft. gem awaits you and your family. Tucked into a beautiful open bay (Stanley Bay) on ever popular Lake Joseph, gives you the best of both worlds having less traffic pass by your tranquil setting while having the ability to boat out to big open water in just minutes.
The current owners were neighbours and long-time friends of the previous owners and gladly bought their original cottage when offered. Knowing what a fabulous spot this was, there was little hesitation even knowing that the renovation task at hand would be a long labour of love. Every attention to detail is evident in each tastefully appointed room.
You will relax the moment you step into the cottage and leave the chaos of city life behind you! The open concept kitchen/dining/living room has cool slate floors, white painted tongue and groove pine cathedral ceilings and a combination of pine furniture and white comfy couches and chairs, giving it a casual chic beach style flair. With two walls of large picture windows and glass doors, stunning tree-top lake view can be enjoyed while prepping meals, dining or when relaxing in front of the fireplace on cooler evenings. Rounding out the main floor is a lakeside bedroom, a quiet tree-shaded back bedroom and a spa like bathroom complete with slate floors and an over-sized walk-in shower.
The lower level makes for a great couple escape with a beautiful open master bedroom and ensuite bathroom with a private walk-out deck, just feet away from the waterfront. What better place to retreat to after a full day of sun and activity and settle into a good book with a glass of wine while listening to the water lap against the shoreline.
With three levels of expansive cedar decking, there are plenty of options to lounge outside on. The upper deck has comfy patio furniture with a large umbrella to enjoy shade on hot, humid days, the middle level has Muskoka chairs and the BBQ while the lakeside deck/dock has loungers to recline on and soak in the rays. If it gets too hot by the water, there is deep swimming right off the dock and a swim raft nearby to swim out to. With two kayaks at your disposal, getting out onto the lake for an early morning paddle is a must.
Add to your vacation adventures and bring or rent a boat and discover and take advantage of the extensive network connecting “The Big Three” (Lake Rosseau to Lake Joseph and Lake Muskoka via river and lock systems). Be sure to take a short drive into Rosseau, especially on a summer Friday, and enjoy the Farmer's Market at the boat launch and park. Today Magazine refers to The Rosseau General Store as "an eclectic emporium where you can find just about anything you could reasonably want, a village Wal-Mart but with infinitely more character". Definitely a vacation-stay to go down in the memory books!
