NEWLY LISTED - June 2018
Welcome to this cozy 800 sq. ft., 2 bedroom cottage and Bunkie on a long half-acre piece of land on popular Mary Lake, the perfect affordable small family vacation getaway!
The interior of the cottage is immaculate and very well maintained, hard to believe it was built in the 1920’s! It has "olde" Muskoka charm, boasting characteristics of summer homes built in Port Sydney at the turn of the last century. The classic pine walls and ceilings bring warmth to the living room and bedrooms and the pastel and white painted walls in the dining room and kitchen make these rooms bright and refreshing.
The screened-in Muskoka room is always a welcomed feature to any cottage as it enables you to enjoy a feeling of being in the great outdoors even on inclement days and nights.
The Bunkie will be a great spot for the kids to sleep in, giving them some privacy but still not being too far from the cottage. It is located half-way between the cottage and the waterfront. The 50 feet of shoreline is hard-packed sand, staying shallow for quite a distance out, making it ideal for both young and old alike. You are also nestled in a tranquil cove of Mary Lake where the waters are calmer, making it ideal for canoeing and other water activities. Needless to say, ending your nights by the lakeside fire pit, roasting marshmallows will be the way to close each and every day.
The property is in the heart of Port Sydney with easy access to all that it has to offer: water sports, tennis, golf, restaurants, and a general store to get ice cream on a hot, sunny day. For avid boaters, rent a boat at nearby Mary Lake Marina and plan for a full day of adventure. The bonus of staying on Mary Lake is being able to explore three other adjoining lakes - Fairy, Vernon, Peninsula, and gaining access to 64 kilometers of boating. You can even boat into the historical town of Huntsville for a day of shopping and dining.
Port Sydney has a rich history with numerous families who have roots dating back multi generations, many even going back to the 1800's, including the owners. They consider Port Sydney to be the hidden jewel of Muskoka and know you will discover why when you come to stay here and enjoy much needed time away from the hectic pace of city life!
