Welcome to this beautiful 2,000 sq. ft., 3 level, winterized cottage on tranquil Mary Lake. Fifteen years ago the owners had a dream to build a timber frame cottage and a short 2 years later, their dream came true. With a bountiful stand of mature White Pine, what better way to show the beauty of Ontario White Pine than with a White Pine timber frame cottage surrounded by White Pine trees! Nestled 70 ft. above Mary Lake, high in the tree tops, enjoy incredible views of the sparking water during the days and with a southwest exposure take in gorgeous sunsets in the evenings. This is the perfect place for family, fun, relaxation and an appreciation of the beauty that surrounds you in a private setting.
The main living/dining/kitchen area is open concept post and beam framing with pine cathedral ceilings, oak floors and an endless array of windows welcoming in the sunshine and offering stunning views of the lake. The cottage is charmingly decorated with comfortable furnishings, forged iron lights, large pine harvest dining table, cherry oak and kitchen cabinets, granite counter tops and numerous curios from the owner’s travels.
Muskoka granite from Huntsville was quarried and cut into stones for the fireplaces by the owners. Their sons helped build the 100 steps to the lake, laid the oak floors in the cottage, and treated the timbers. Quilts were also hand-made by the owners to add colour and ambiance. A family’s true labour of love to hopefully enhance your family vacation and create fond memories.
The bedroom choices are all varied, bright and spacious. One bedroom is tucked into the shaded back driveway side on the main level of the cottage. Three beds are in the large loft area, and the lower level bedrooms face out to the lower deck with the large master bedroom complete with its own fireplace.
No cottage is complete without a deck and this cottage has a multitude to choose from! A walk-out from the main level living room area takes you out to an open deck overlooking the lake, colourfully decorated with an abundance of Muskoka chairs. A walk-out from the kitchen/dining area takes you out to a breezy covered deck with many cozy seating choices. And yet another walk-out from the lower level bedrooms takes you out to a large covered deck, nestled in the trees with views of the lake from more Muskoka chairs.
Head down to the lake and settle into the small upper deck or mid lower deck or large dock to enjoy your days in the sun, the choices are endless! Even with a natural shoreline, there is still a shallow sandy-bottomed entrance and remains shallow for approximately 100 ft. out with the water depth at the end of the dock about 3.5 ft. deep. Take the canoes out for a paddle, the North Muskoka River is a not to be missed experience for its unsurpassed beauty. For those familiar with sailing, enjoy the small sailboat or sailboard.
In the winter, bring your cross country skis for a groomed trail that is only 200ft away from the cottage.
If you can tear yourself away from the cottage, take a short trip into the quaint village of Port Sydney to Larry’s General Store/Ice Cream Parlour or head into Huntsville for a full day of shopping and dining, with the Muskoka Baptist conference only a few minutes away.
A cottage experience not to be missed where every day is a joy and an adventure!
