This sprawling 4,000 sq. ft. cottage with two 500 sq. ft. separate state rooms (perfect for two families sharing this expansive cottage), sits breathtakingly high up on the Canadian Shield, overlooking Loon Bay. From the moment you walk into the ceramic foyer entrance and see the winding staircase up to the second level, you know you are in for an enjoyable treat and not your average summer vacation getaway!
There are two cozy bedrooms off the foyer with a 4-piece bathroom and laundry room in between. As you take a few steps down to the main level, you find yourself in a magnificent open living room/family room/dining room/kitchen, with vaulted cedar ceilings and a walk out to a large deck, lending spectacular views of the bay and westerly sunsets. In the family area, there is a wood burning fireplace as well as a 3-sided propane fireplace. For those rainy days or late nights, enjoy the huge 12' x 16' entertainment unit, surround sound and 60" HD TV. Just off of the family room is the first spacious master state bedroom with its own ensuite and walk in shower, and its own separate walk out to the large deck and outdoor dining table with seating for 8.
As you venture up the spiral staircase, you are greeted by the same spectacular view of the bay from this second level consisting of an open office, unique ceramic oval wood burning fireplace, billiard table and gym. There are 2 walkout decks off this area for sitting, overlooking the bay relaxing with a glass of Merlot.
From here, 5 steps lead to the second expansive master state bedroom with its own propane fireplace and built in entertainment unit TV with surround sound and ensuite with walk in shower. To add to this private hideaway, it has its own separate entrance from the front of the house. And just when you thought you would settle into this private haven, you discover a stairway to the top of the roof of the house leading to an octagon hot tub room with a "coast" 8 person tub with yet again a million dollar view of the bay. At this point, the elevation is 13 storeys above the bay waterline!
If you can tear yourself away from the cottage itself, venture down the 88 steps to 105 feet of water frontage where there is a deck and long dock where you can sit back and enjoy the day with the refreshing breeze off the lake. You can jump off the dock or use the swim ladder to cool off in the clear lake water or walk out on the hard packed sand from the shore. There are islands around the cottage to protect it from the Sound, so boating is great for the canoeist or kayaker and fishing (lake trout, bass, pickerel) is excellent!
