What’s not to love about this wonderful 2 bedroom cottage tucked into an acre of well treed land overlooking the pristine waters of Kawagama Lake! Welcome to the perfect couple or small family getaway, cozy and comfortable with all you could ask for in a “cabin in the woods” cottage experience. The cottage has been in the family for over 30 years and with its recent renovations, the only signs of it being built in the 80’s is the center beam in the open concept living area that has been lovingly signed and dated by family members and friends over the years!
Pine walls, floors and ceilings give the whole cottage a warm inviting ambiance with a wall of floor to ceiling windows along the entire main level living area adding filtered sun rays to the interior while lending to fabulous tree top views of the lake. Slide open the deck glass doors and let in the summer breezes while dining indoors or relaxing on the comfy living room furniture.
Two lakeside bedrooms are located on the upper level with a pull out sofa in a self-contained side entrance room on the main level with its own walk-out to the deck.
Being located in a bay (Little Fletcher Bay) on a large lake, gives you the best of both worlds as it is more protected and calmer for early morning paddles but allows you easy access to the big open waters for hours of boating if you bring one along or rent one. With a northwest exposure, head down to the generous sized dock and 100 feet of natural shoreline and enjoy hours of sunbathing from mid-morning until sunset! The water is 8 feet deep at the end of the dock making it great for shallow diving and the swimming is fantastic as Kawagama Lake is recognized as one of the cleanest lakes in Ontario.
Mix up the water fun with walks or runs on the quiet country back roads or bring your mountain bike and get in a good ride. For a quick and easy day trip experience the beautiful and historic town of Dorset. It sits on the shores of Lake of Bays and has a wonderful waterfront restaurant, ice cream parlours, cafes, and quaint shops along with an eclectic grocery store, an LCBO and a park. You need not go anywhere else for all your groceries and beverages. For an unimaginable 365 degree view of The Lake of Bays, you can climb the famous Dorset Lookout Tower which stands at 465 feet.
End your days back at the cottage on the spacious deck that provides much welcomed shade after long days of sun, fun and adventuring. Start up the BBQ, grab your favourite beverage and watch a glorious sunset as the haunting call of the loons serenade the close to your day!
