Welcome to beautiful "Dacha Cottage"!
This stunning 4-season, 2,400 sq. ft., 2 level, 4 bedroom cottage is nestled on an acre of land on the peaceful shores of Dickie Lake. Located right in the heart of Muskoka, in the Township of Lake of Bays, this is the perfect cottage country getaway.
Built from the ground up in 2007 and exquisitely decorated by an interior designer in 2019, it has the feel of a brand new, modern home, while paying tribute to the rustic nature surrounding the property. Originally designed as a family home, this wonderful lakeside cottage was built for year-round living with all the comforts of home and so much more!
From interior to exterior, you’ll notice thoughtful touches and carefully planned interior design throughout Dacha Cottage. The home’s designer, wanted to tell a story of two Muskokas, the nostalgic Muskoka of old-school family cabins, and the modern luxury of the multi-million dollar homes that dot Muskoka’s many shorelines.
The main floor offers vaulted cathedral ceilings in the open concept kitchen/dining/living room with wall-to-wall windows affording panoramic views of the lake while providing ample amounts of natural light. The kitchen is a chef's dream, with modern stainless steel appliances, gas stove with convection oven and plenty of counter space for prepping meals.
Two bedrooms and a 4-piece bathroom are off to one side of this main living area, with the lakeside bedroom having a direct walk-out to the deck, and on the other side of the main living area is the spacious lakeside master bedroom with a 3-piece ensuite and its own walk-out to the deck.
The lower level is spacious and bright with a wall of windows and a direct walk-out to the lakeside lawn and waterfront. The games room will be the favourite spot for the family to enjoy on inclement days and the beautiful lakeside fourth bedroom is just off of the games room and has its own walk-out to the waterfront. A 3-piece bathroom and large open laundry room round out the lower level.
Dickie Lake is known in Muskoka as one of the cleanest bodies of water making it ideal for swimming, and because it is a smaller lake there is less boat traffic making for a tranquil stay throughout your vacation. In the warmer months, with kayaks and a stand-up paddle board at your disposal, be sure to get out on the lake and explore, especially in the morning when the water is at its calmest. In the fall, take in the gorgeous coloured leaves characteristic of the Muskoka area, while winter offers a long list of Canadian activities. Whether you’re swimming, skiing, snowshoeing, or fishing, there is always plenty to do at Dacha Cottage, regardless of the season!
