Perched above the beautiful shores of Fairy Lake, this classic Muskoka cottage is primed to create fun family memories to last a lifetime. Whatever experience your family is looking for, there is a place for you to make it a reality!
Take a step back in time, enjoying a taste of Muskoka heritage while at the same time being pampered by today’s modern amenities. The cottage has been in the family for over 60 years and has been meticulously maintained with much love and attention from the days of no TV, telephone or hot water to the current abundance of all you need to keep the entire family happy! Family, friends and guests were always welcomed and now they have opened their hearts and doors to your family.
The cottage is located just minutes away from the historical town of Huntsville on a quiet and small community road where many original cottage families still remain and as the generations continue there are always a lot of other kids on the road hanging out together just as in decades past.
As you enter the cottage from the driveway you will be surprised at how large the interior is! 2,100 sq. ft. of a mix of old and new greets you with a modern kitchen and sitting room with a 4-piece bathroom and laundry room at the entrance area leading into the classic Muskoka open concept dining room and living room complete with chinked log wood walls and post and beam vaulted ceilings. The furnishings are a combination of old and new as well, with a large wood harvest dining table with mixed dining chairs, comfy couches and chairs around the fireplace in the living room and a day bed as well as a curtained off queen bed, as it would have been in days gone by!
Off of this main living area is the favourite spot for most all cottagers, the owners included, a screened-in Muskoka room facing out to the water, providing tree top views of the lake, shade and protection from the elements on rainy or hot sunny days while still feeling one with nature, morning, noon or night.
The lower level has a sitting room with a walk-out to the stairs to the lake, a 2-piece bathroom and 4 bedrooms, perfectly located for cooler night's sleep.
Head down to the 100 feet of waterfront to have your morning coffee on the expansive dock and enjoy sunlight from sunrise to late afternoon. The young kids can even throw a line off of the dock and possibly catch a small fish while the older ones can jump into the refreshing water at the end of the dock where it is over 5 feet deep. Relax and while away the hours with a long overdue book or enjoy lunches under the umbrella at the picnic table. With a canoe and kayaks at your disposal be sure to head out and explore the lake.
For avid boaters, Fairy Lake is part of a popular four-lake system (Fairy, Peninsula, Vernon and Mary) with over 40 miles of boating heaven and adventures. A short boat ride takes you to both Deerhurst resort and Grandview resort. Boat or drive to Huntsville with its quaint downtown for strolling, shopping, restaurants, live theatre and Pioneer Village. There are numerous premier golf courses in the area. World famous Algonquin Park is only about a thirty minute drive from the cottage.
