Welcome to this great vacation location for the whole family! Tucked onto 5 acres of land with 145 feet of hard packed sand water frontage, this 1,600 sq. ft., two level, newly renovated cottage and bunkie is sure to please everyone.
The owners grew up loving their summers spent at cottages and when they married the couple bought a cruiser and spent every summer, with their children, on the boat doing all the fun activities that come with a day well spent on the water. But when it came to early retirement they wanted the best of both worlds so when they discovered Gloucester Pool, they didn't have to look any further. With such a beautiful lake, a very sheltered bay with little boat traffic, great swimming and so many interesting spots to explore, they were sold.
The main cottage has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The spacious master bedroom is on the main level with its own ensuite bathroom and a walk-out to the Muskoka room with 2 more bedrooms located on the upper level. Located just steps away from the cottage is a bunkie with a queen bed and a 2-piece bathroom, offereing privacy and a great night's sleep.
The open concept, lake facing, kitchen/living/dining area in the main cottage, with a soaring cathedral ceiling and a wall of picture windows, will accommodate family gatherings at meal time or relaxing while watching a movie.
The generous sized deck stretches the length of the cottage with a large grassy area between it and the lake. The close proximity of the cottage to the lake, combined with grass and a sandy entrance to the water, is rare in cottage country and will be enjoyed by both young and old alike. With a canoe, kayak and rowboat at your disposal, head out onto the lake and explore the quiet bay, also known to local fishermen as a hot spot for bass, walleye and pike. If you choose to bring your own boat you won't be disappointed as the cottage is on the expansive Trent-Severn waterway where you can enjoy endless hours of boating and take in the awe of watching the unique lock system marine railway at "Big Chute".
Day trips to a variety of nearby villages offer a selection of restaurants and local shops to add to your experience of cottage country hospitality. For avid golfers, there are 2 courses less than a half hour away and for skiers during the winter holidays, Horseshoe Valley and Mount St. Louis Moonstone are also about a half hour away.
However you choose to spend your days it is a must to make it back to the waterfront before dark. With the cottage facing west, the sunsets are amazing, each one magnificent and unique in their own way. As the sky fills with a blanket of stars you will realize how lucky you are to be in this little piece of paradise while anxiously anticipating the next day!
