Tucked into one acre of well-treed land, this wonderful 1,100 sq. ft., 2 bedroom cottage and Bunkie sits slightly elevated overlooking pristine Muldrew Lake. The property borders on several acres of Crown Land making it very private especially on the East side where the deck is located. This is the perfect vacation destination for a couple or a small family seeking peace and quiet!
The owner’s family have been on the lake since 1960. Their current cottage is across the lake and when this property came up for sale they couldn’t resist the investment for extended family members and friends to visit.
They lovingly renovated the classic 50 year old Muskoka cottage and brought it into the 21st century with a new kitchen and 4-piece bathroom. They kept the classic accents of some pine trim, wood beams in the vaulted ceilings and the original open structure of the Muskoka room and then refreshed it by painting the panelled walls and tile ceilings white, laying down wood laminate flooring and adding colourful cushions and art in the Muskoka room.
The kitchen has all the modern appliance conveniences of home with even a second fridge in the Muskoka room. The master bedroom is off of the kitchen with direct walk-out access to the deck and the second bedroom is off of the Muskoka room. All the main rooms face out to the deck with peaceful tree-top views of the lake.
The Bunkie is located just a short path walk from the cottage and is the ideal spot for those family members seeking a little more privacy and quiet.
Muldrew Lake is a part of the original Native Canoe Route from the Trent-Severn River System (Lake Ontario and Georgian Bay) to the Muskoka’s. Dr. Muldrew was the second cottager on the lake, a principal of Gravenhurst High School and a professor at the Ontario Agricultural College.
Muldrew Lake is a beautiful small Muskoka Lake, compared to the “Big Three”, but is still 16 Kilometers (10 Miles) long so it is great for boating if you bring your own or rent one. It is an excellent lake for paddling as well so be sure to take advantage of the canoe and paddle boat provided for you. Also being a smaller narrow lake the water is warmer than the big lakes and is great for swimming. Mustn’t forget the avid fishermen, the lake is also good for fishing, especially for Bass and Pike.
So what are you waiting for, it’s time to get out of the city and enjoy the perfect small family or couple getaway!
