NEWLY LISTED - December 2018
Welcome to this cozy and charming 1,000 sq. ft. 3 bedroom bungalow cottage on the quiet south arm of the Muskoka River, the perfect small family vacation getaway anytime of the year!
Since taking possession in the fall of 2016, the owners have turned this traditional Muskoka cottage into a modern, yet warm and inviting vacation retreat.
The entire cottage has been newly painted, the 3-piece bathroom has been updated, complete with a rainfall shower head, a new washer/dryer added, new mattresses in the queen bedrooms, new comfortable furnishings in the living/dining area and all rooms have been tastefully decorated and complimented with new lighting and accent accessories.
A bank of windows across the front and sides of the cottage let in plenty of light in the main living area and provide an incredible view of the river and the natural surroundings, whether prepping meals in the well-equipped kitchen or relaxing in the living room in front of the propane woodstove.
The property has so many places to choose from to sit back and relax and enjoy the great outdoors, whether basking in the sun, cooling off in the shade or making and eating meals. There is a side deck just outside of the kitchen to barbecue on and a screened-in gazebo deck close by to dine on. On the way down to the dock there is a third deck with glass railings offering tranquil unobstructed views of the river. The spacious dock has steps to take you into shallower water and a ladder to take you into deeper water and with no cottages across the river, it is very private here!
With 3 kayaks at your disposal it is a must to get out on the river and explore, and with no big boats or loud seadoos, the river is also amazingly peaceful! There are many kilometres to enjoy along this part of the river in both directions, with great 'pools' for fishing in. This arm of the Muskoka river is bound on each end by falls, a wonderful site to behold, so traffic is generally just the neighbouring cottagers along this stretch.
For a change of pace head out for a quick day trip and explore the quaint village of Bala or the cottage country towns of Gravenhurst or Bracebridge, all just a 30-45 minute drive away. The cottage road is also great for quiet walks as it is only used by the locals and therefore not much traffic or for the more adventurous, there is a beautiful trail across the road for nature exploring.
End your days around the large fire pit, toasting hot dogs or marshmallows and making plans for another great day in cottage country!
