Welcome to this gorgeous 2 bedroom executive cottage located on the tranquil shores of Deer Lake in the heart of the beautiful Almaguin Highlands, providing everything 2 professional couples or a small family would desire in a cottage country getaway.
From the driveway there is a lovely well kept pathway through the woods to the cottage, approximately 100 feet, a great way to start unwinding from the cities concrete hectic pace as you settle into the peacefulness of your natural surroundings.
Newly built, great care was taken in providing the feel of a cozy cabin in the woods while pampering you with the modern conveniences of home and tastefully decorated rooms. The open concept kitchen/dining/living room is spacious yet warm and inviting with dark wood floors, walls and a slightly vaulted ceiling. The screened-in Muskoka room stretches across the front of the cottage and has sliding doors from the main living area, opening up the room even more. Whether prepping meals in the kitchen, dining in the dining room or relaxing in the living room or Muskoka room, you will be graced with magnificent lake views.
Two bedrooms and a 3-piece bathroom with a large walk-in shower are off to the side of the main living area. It’s hard to say which is the master bedroom, both are spacious and beautifully appointed, with large windows letting in soft ambient light, with one bedroom facing out to the serene lake and the other bedroom facing out to the peaceful woods.
As comfortable as the cottage is, the great outdoors is calling and just steps from the Muskoka room are your 2 lakeside decks and a large L-shaped dock. Along with your own fabulous private waterfront, there is also a shared waterfront with the main cottage. It consists of a wonderful beach and shallow entry into the lake. The hard-packed bottom makes it ideal for both young and old alike to safely wade into the water and splash and play.
There are shared kayaks and a canoe also at your disposal so be sure to get out onto the lake and explore. Deer Lake offers some of the best fishing in the area, plentiful with bass, pike and trout. For athletic land lovers there are great country roads for walking and running and cyclists will enjoy a number of local routes to explore around the lake while avid golfers can get in some rounds of golf at close by Eagle Lake and Sundridge golf courses.
Needless to say, however you choose to spend your days, no cottage country day is complete unless you end it back at the cottage with a BBQ dinner on the deck and after dinner drinks on the dock as you watch the sky fill with a blanket of stars. Life is good!
For additional accommodations for families looking to vacation together in the same area: This cottage is located on a point of land (on a separate lot - with a separate shoreline) near cottage #487 (separated by a central parking area and trees - you cannot see one cottage from the other cottage).
