On picturesque and quiet Crane Lake, this great 3 bedroom cottage provides all that is needed for the ideal family vacation. The cottage is bright, clean and comfortable, with an open concept kitchen, dining and living area all facing out to the lake. The open concept living area with its beautiful vaulted ceiling and large windows offers a fantastic view from inside with a walk out to the same peaceful view from the expansive deck that runs the length of the cottage. Whether dining inside or out on the deck adorned with tiki laterns, you will know that you have definitely left the city life far behind! The laundry/mud room is perfectly located at the far end of the cottage, off the deck, and the bathroom is just across the way from it, therefore no need to wet the living areas when coming in from the lake. The 3 bedrooms face the back of the cottage and look out onto the forest making for a great night's sleep.
The cottage is slightly elevated with a gradual slope down to the dock. With 130 feet of waterfront there is something for everyone - 6 feet deep water off the large dock for diving into as well as a shallow entry area with a hard packed sandy bottom, entering from a small set of stairs to the side of the dock. With a south-west exposure you will enjoy countless hours of basking in the sunshine as the sun is on the dock from 10 in the morning until sunset.
If you tire from relaxing, venture into several nearby lakes that can be reached by canoe or short portage. Crane Lake also connects to larger Blackstone Lake for more boating opportunities. With Bass, Pike, Muskie and Walleye in abundance, the fishing rarely lets anyone down. For the more adventurous, check out the Rock Bluffs that local cottagers like to jump from.
A unique spot to take in the views of the lake and the area's natural beauty and landscape is on the custom made platform perched within a cluster of trees, complete with draped lights for late night ambiance. Settle in and enjoy an evening beverage while reminiscing about your day of fun in the sun. End your days huddled around the fire pit, located between the deck and the dock, story-telling and roasting marshmallows.
If you manage to pull yourself away from the delights of the cottage, take a day trip to the nearby town of Parry Sound, home of the Georgian Bay Bioshere Reserve, one of only 13 UNESCO sites in Canada. The eastern coast of Georgian Bay, where Parry Sound is located, is also known as the "30,000 islands" and considered the world's largest freshwater archipelago.
Cottage life at its best!
