Welcome to this amazing piece of paradise, located on the shores of Little Seguin River, an extension of Lake Manitouwabing, where the water gently slips by and the way of life is more relaxed than found on the big lakes! The owners specifically bought in this area for the second time, because of the privacy and peacefulness (no boat noises) of being on the water yet having access to everything on Lake Manitouwabing.
From the moment you drive into the large circular driveway, just off of the quiet country road, your breathe will be taken away by the beauty of this expansive property. The 3,700 sq. ft., 2 level, 5 bedroom cottage sits on 4 acres of lovingly landscaped land with a gentle slope taking you down to a waterfront gazebo, dock and the rarely found in cottage country, a private beach!
The interior of the cottage is a combination of cottage classic accents with modern tastefully appointed furnishings and warm wood floors throughout all the main level rooms.
The main living area features vaulted ceilings and a wall of floor to ceiling windows with incredible panoramic views out to the water and further on to the serene backdrop of lush green farm land and meadows.
The open concept kitchen/ dining/ living room beckons for family gatherings morning, noon and night. The kitchen has modern stainless steel appliances and plenty of granite counter space for prepping meals while taking in river views. On hot humid days, enjoy meals in the air-conditioned dining room and on cooler summer days dine on the lower level covered stone patio. For late night relaxing, settle into the comfy couches and chairs in either the main level living room or lower level family room and enjoy an evening by the fire watching TV or movies.
The spacious master bedroom is located on the main floor with fantastic waterfront views and a private walk out to the deck and two more bedrooms and a 4-piece bathroom round out the main level.
The lower level has two more bedrooms with a family room in between, complete with TV, gas woodstove, foosball table and walk-out to the covered stone patio. The bunk bedroom has a 3-piece ensuite and the second, very large bedroom, would be great for a couple with a small child as it has plenty of room to accommodate a Pack N Play or a portable cot.
As wonderful as the cottage is, it is the great outdoors on this property that will bring you hours of endless joy! You have not just one, but two large deck/patio areas to relax on, the top one is open for the sun worshippers in the family and the lower one provides shade, both with peaceful waterfront views.
The large grass area by the driveway down to the waterfront is perfect for kicking a ball around or playing frisbee and there is a horseshoe game and water toss game provided for your enjoyment as well. With 2 kayaks and a canoe at your disposal, be sure to get out on the water and explore, especially in the morning when the river is at its calmest.
With 300 feet of waterfront and a private beach, young and old alike will find endless pleasure in this safe and shallow area, playing in the sand or splashing in the water.
If you bring your own boat or rent one, there is not only a boat launch on the lake but there is a boat launch at the cottage. Lake Manitouwabing is one of the larger lakes in Northern Ontario, full of islands and beautiful cottages to enjoy as you tour around and take it all in. Fishing is top notch, with bass, pike and pickerel in abundance and if you use worms it’s a guaranteed catch!
On the lake there is also access to the Ridge at Manitou Golf Course, a beautiful place to golf and the food at the restaurant is incredible. If going by boat from the cottage it is roughly a 20 minute ride. If you are interested in going here to golf or eat, you should call ahead to reserve a round of golf and book a spot at the dock, the best seats in the house for dining on beautiful summer and fall days!
Needless to say, your family vacation time here will be one to go down in the history books of priceless memories.
If you are looking for a winter getaway, the cottage does sit directly on the OFSC trail for snowmobiling, specifically trail #804 which runs on the lake in front of the cottage.
