Welcome to this lovely 1,800 sq. ft., 4 bedroom cottage located on ever popular Lake of Bays. This much loved cottage has been in the family for 4 generations and holds 60 years of cherished memories.
The interior of this classic Muskoka gem is immaculate and well maintained with beautiful pine walls, floors and ceilings throughout, adding to its warmth and charm. Although giving you a true sense of days gone by, it has the modern amenities of today’s homes such as a dishwasher, microwave and washer/dryer.
The living room and Muskoka room, with beautiful views of the lake, sit centrally on the long expanse of the cottage, with the kitchen, dining room and a cozy bedroom to one side and 3 more bedrooms and 2 bathrooms on the other side. The spacious lakeside master bedroom has its own 3-piece ensuite bathroom and sitting room making it a great place to retreat to after a long day of cottage activities.
The Muskoka room is always a bonus as it allows the family to enjoy panoramic views of the lake and still feel one with nature on inclement days while reading, playing board games or just relaxing.
With a southeast exposure, you will be privy to magnificent sunrises and amazing full-length views of the lake. Enjoy your morning coffee on the large dock and take in the tranquility and beauty of the mist rising off the lake as a new day begins.
The property caters to both young and old alike with a large level lawn, a shallow entry to the lake at the side of the dock for the little ones and deeper water at the end of the dock for the older kids to jump off of and swim out to the raft. Being in a protected bay, the water is calmer, making it ideal for paddling so be sure to take out the canoe, kayaks and paddleboat at your disposal.
Lake of Bays, the second largest lake in the Muskokas with over 165 km of shoreline and depths that exceed 200 feet, is known for its fabulous swimming, fishing and boating. With numerous marinas and public boat launches nearby, you could bring your own boat or rent a boat to enjoy all that the lake has to offer. You should definitely indulge in a boating day trip or two to the villages of Dorset, Dwight and Baysville. Another must in off-season would be a trip to historic Bigwin Island for a day of golf and there is also the LOB tennis and sailing club, great for both kids and adults.
Any day of the week is great to take a short drive into the quaint village of Baysville where the local shops offer plenty of variety for browsing and buying. Ms. Nell’s Antiques and coffee shop has great baked goods, sandwiches and beverages and they also run the ice cream shop. Humble Pie has great pizzas and The Fork in the Road has many choices as well for a quick snack.
The Farmers Market is a must, every Friday from 2pm-6pm and check out The Hound for chicken wings and poutine and live entertainment on the patio on Saturdays and Sundays. Lake of Bays Brewery is another great spot to pop in to and enjoy their patio.
The General store has those one-offs you might need but for grocery stores, the towns of Huntsville and Bracebridge are just a 15-20 minute drive away.
End your days back at the cottage with a delicious BBQ on the deck, then roast marshmallows around the lakeside fire bowl and share stories about the day's adventures. What are you waiting for!
